Philosophy of Missions
- We believe that world missions is the responsibility of the local church. Paul and Barnabas clearly set for us the example of being sent out by the Holy Ghost through the local congregation of believers in Antioch. (Acts 13:1-4)
- We believe that world missions requires the cooperation of local churches of like faith and practice. Though Paul was sent out by the local church at Antioch, he did not hesitate to solicit or accept the prayer support or the financial support of other like minded churches. (Rom. 15:30-32; II Cor. 8:1-12; Eph. 6:18-19; Phil. 4:15-18)
- We believe that the goal of world missions should be the salvation of souls in need of a Savior, the establishment of believers in the faith, and the organization of believers into local churches to carry on the great commission given to us by the Lord Jesus Christ. (Matt. 28:18-20; II Tim. 2:2; Titus 1:5)
- We believe that the eventual goal in the establishment of any new local church should be to make that church self-governing, self-sufficient, and self-propagating. God did not call us to pastor churches on the foreign field, but to win souls and start churches - it is our desire to turn such churches over to indigenous Kiwi leadership as soon as the Lord allows and provides. (Act 20:17-32; Titus 1:5-9)
- We further believe that these goals should be striven for by supporting any biblical method of evangelism and that our sphere of ministry should be not only the cities in which God calls us, but the surrounding districts and nations as a whole. (Act 1:8; Tom. 15:20; I Cor. 9:16-22; II Cor. 10:16)
